Medical Negligence and Pediatric Care Case Study

Our firm represented a young boy and his family who were dealing with birth related complications. The young boy required daily care for all forms of activity. As he grew, his ability to breath on his own was improving such to the point that he was being weaned off his tracheostomy tube. The trach tube required daily care and cleaning by trained professionals. One morning during a tube change, the young boy went into respiratory arrest as the untrained and unqualified attendant struggled to change the tube. The nursing attendant then failed to follow established protocol for life saving measures and the young child went into full cardiac arrest and ultimately lost his life. We filed suit and fought in court for several years before obtaining a confidential catastrophic sum for the young family on the eve of trial.
